Mid or Senior Creative Copywriter

Tangent is a growing creative agency based in the centre of Manchester. We are looking for an experienced Creative Copywriter to join the team and work across an exciting and ever growing global client portfolio.

We are looking for an ambitious creative copywriter who is ready to take the next step into a role where they will have the chance to take creative ownership of projects with support and guidance from the Creative Directors. 
 
We want someone that immerses themselves with creativity and culture. Experience in working across multiple creative disciplines is a must. We don’t expect you to be a strategist but an understanding of brand principles and the way creative strategy works would be great. We’re looking for someone who can think conceptually and is capable of telling impactful and clever stories in a simple and direct way, as well as being able to nail a punchy one-liner!


The Role
As Creative Copywriter, you'll be at the heart of developing original ideas and bringing them to life through compelling language. You'll work closely with art directors, designers, strategists, and account managers to deliver high-impact concepts and copy across a variety of platforms - from brand campaigns and digital content to film scripts, social media, and experiential work.
This is a hands-on, concept-to-execution role where your words will shape narratives, change perceptions, and inspire action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver bold, creative concepts for campaigns, pitches, and branded content
  • Craft clear, engaging, and original copy across a wide range of channels including TV, digital, social, print, OOH, experiential, and brand voice development
  • Collaborate with designers and art directors to create fully integrated campaigns
  • Present work to internal teams and clients with confidence and clarity
  • Take ownership of tone of voice development and brand storytelling for clients
  • Stay ahead of trends in culture, media, and language to bring fresh thinking to every brief
  • Juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a creative copywriting role, within an agency environment
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong conceptual thinking and crafted, impactful copy across a range of formats
  • Proven experience leading creative campaigns from ideation through to delivery
  • Excellent understanding of brand tone of voice and how to flex it across different audiences and platforms
  • Exceptional storytelling skills and a knack for distilling complex ideas into clear, engaging narratives
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • A confident presenter, comfortable articulating your thinking to clients and colleagues alike
  • Experience writing scripts for film.
